Introducing the latest members of our act renewable Asia team, as we look ahead to what’s in store for 2023.
Our Asia team is now five people strong, with exciting growth plans for the year ahead. We believe being present on the ground is crucial to delivering quality and impact, and the continued expansion of our Asia team will enable act renewable to meet the increasing demand in Asia for renewable energy advisory services as it relates to emission reduction for corporates.
As our team grows, so too does our specialist knowledge of the RE transition in the context of the emission reduction journey. By combining our international expertise and local understanding, we continue to ensure that our services are market-oriented, customized and impactful for our clients.
We are delighted to welcome and introduce two new starters to our Asia team – Myra and Thien.
MEET: MYRA FONG
Myra joins our Asia team as Project Manager – Renewable Energy Transition, having worked in China, Canada, Singapore and beyond. Myra combines her cultural and language skills with her strong renewable energy experience and data analysis to help clients transition to renewable energy.
Myra brings with her 10 years’ experience of living and working in China and will head up the China working group to build out act renewable’s knowledge of the China sector.
She looks forward to helping corporates achieve their renewable energy goals in China and supporting act renewable’s international clients navigate the regulatory challenges and language barriers when transitioning to renewable energy.
“Humans have a responsibility to the planet,” says Myra, who entered the renewable energy field to be a force for change and help the world move away from fossil fuels. “Our actions led to climate change, and we need to do what we can to reverse and prevent future damage.”

– Myra Fong, Project Manager
She is excited to start working on coal phase out, which she says would be a “double win” by greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and keeping the air clean. Outside of work, Myra’s interests include cycling, pottery, skiing, Zumba dancing, food, and travel.
MEET: THIEN NGUYEN
Thien joins us as a consultant to support with SBTi projects for clients in Vietnam, China and Indonesia, having been drawn to act renewable as an ideal environment for working and learning. Thien brings strong working experience in implementing climate change, carbon emissions, energy, and sustainable development projects in Vietnam. She has proven ability to coordinate with international clients and government institutions to deliver sustainable projects that benefit the community. Thien looks forward to helping clients meet their emissions targets while also raising their awareness of this topic.
It was during a field trip in Mo Vang – a rural community in a mountainous area to the Northeast of Vietnam – that Thien was inspired to pursue a career in renewable energy. “It was the first time I had been exposed directly to natural disasters and witnessed people’s struggles,” she says. “The damage was more than I had expected. I wondered how much worse it could get if climate change took a more negative direction. This thought has motivated me to work harder with the hope that I can contribute to lessening the effect of climate change.”
Outside of work, Thien enjoys running, getting out in nature, and hiking with friends in the forests or mountains.

– Thien Nguyen, Consultant
“We are thrilled to welcome Myra and Thien to our growing team. As demand increases in Asia for renewable energy advisory services, we are committed to building our on the ground capacity to deliver expert knowledge to those proactive corporates that are making the transition.”
