The Challenge

Having identified the best-suited renewable heating solutions within a previous renewable strategy project supported by act renewable, Fendt needed to get a more in-depth assessment of the solution enabling it to complete the transition with a potential supplier under an OPEX-driven business model.

Fendt aimed to explore the nascent market for contracting/ heat-as-a-service and identify best-suited potential strategic partners for its heating transition across its German sites.

Our Approach

We gathered key site-specific technical data and operational considerations  alongside a undertaking a review of available market solutions to create a basis for a first technical feasibility check.

Our renewable energy experts screened the German market to shortlist potential players providing solutions aligned with Fendt’s technical feasibility requirements and  partner criteria.

We ran an RFI process to screen shortlisted companies and identify a strategic partner that can provide the relevant renewable heating solutions and meet the technical and partner requirements to support Fendt on its ambition.

Key Outcomes

This new approach tapped into the  market for an industrial-scale heat-as-a-service solution in an uncertain landscape. The key outcomes of this project were:

    • A clear corporate overview of the technical requirements and the market players that could meet Fendt’s partner criteria and technical requirements
    • Identification of suitable partner companies to further engage with as it moves into the implementation of the renewable heating transition.
